Save Sylhet

Ramadan Project

With Ramadan expected to start on April, subject to the sighting of the moon, Muslims are preparing for the holy month in extraordinary circumstances.

This year the month will coincide with the coronavirus pandemic, which has left millions infected globally, and tens of millions of people dead. This will likely have an impact on communal activities, such as families iftars and communal prayers, as people stay at home during lockdowns and prayer services in mosques are cancelled.

Nevertheless, unless people become sick or at risk of becoming so, fasting and other private spiritual activities, such as the reading of the Quran, will go ahead as usual.

Many Muslims believe it also helps in bringing them closer to the poor and those who feel hunger on a regular basis, some believe it teaches them to value the importance of food and drinks. Muslims also believe that Ramadan teaches them to practice self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice, and empathy for those who are less fortunate.

Since Save Sylhet was born to do good deeds before death, Ramadan is the best month. That’s why we have some important projects in the month of Ramadan, such as we will teach the Qur’an to street children for free this month, there is also separate Qur’an teaching system for men and women. Besides, there is a month-long distribution program of Sehri and Iftar, Eid Gift for the helpless. We need BDT 5,00,000 for this project which our donors will donate inshaAllah.
