Flood Project

Bangladesh could be a land of the many rivers. it’s terribly susceptible to flooding thanks to being set on the river Delta (also referred to as the Ganges Delta) and also the several distributaries flowing into the Bay of Bengal. thanks to being a part of such a basin and being but five metres higher than mean water level, Asian country faces the accumulative effects of floods thanks to water flashing from close hills, the buildup of the flow of water from upstream catchments, and regionally significant rain increased by drain congestion.

Asian country faces this drawback virtually each year. Coastal flooding, combined with the detonating of watercourse banks is common, and severely affects the landscape and society of Asian country. annually in Asian country concerning twenty six,000 sq. kilometres (10,000 sq mi) (around eighteen of the country) is flooded, killing over five,000 folks and destroying over seven million homes. throughout severe floods the affected space could exceed seventy fifth of the country, as was seen in 1998. This volume is ninety fifth of the whole annual flow.By comparison, solely concerning 187 trillion l (1.87×1011 m3; half-dozen.6×1012 metal ft) of streamflow is generated by rain within the country throughout an equivalent amount. The floods have caused devastation in Asian country throughout history, particularly in 1951, 1987, 1988 and 1998. The 2007 South Asian floods additionally affected an oversized portion of Asian country.

During this flood many people have to lose their homes and die due to lack of food! So Save Sylhet family did a flood project where food was distributed in some areas including Dhirai, Sunamganj, Guainghat, Chatak etc. Alhamdulillah this project has been successfully completed.
